INSTRUCTIONS

• THYROID & IODINE WHOLE BODY SCAN : Stop Eltroxin / Lugol's lodine / lodex/ lodine Containing Drugs/Syrups, Four weeks before scan Stop antityroid Medications one week before scan (For l-131 Studies)
• THALLIUM SCAN / MIBI / TETROFOSMIN CARDIAC SCAN : Stop Beta Blockers(Metoprolol/propranolol etc.) for 72 hour Calcium channel blockers(Dilzem-Verpamil etc.) for 48 hours and Nitrate compounds(GTN, Nitroglycerine etc.) for 12 hours before study with the consent of the referring Doctor.

Preferably Fasting for 4-6 Hours.

• RENAL SCAN: No special precaution required. Hydration Status Adequate. For ACE lnhibitor Renal Scan: Stop ACE inhibitor Drugs 7 days & Diuretics 2 days before the scan.

• MIBG SCAN: Stop these drugs before Scan: Phenyl Propanolamine, Resepine, Tricyclic anti-depresant, Phenoxy Benzamine & Sympatholytic Drugs, Cocaine & Desmethyl lmipramine.

• HEPATOBILIARY/MECKEL'S DIVERTICULUM/ GASTRO ESOPHAGEAL REFULX SCAN: Preferably fasting for 6 hours.

• BONE SCAN:No special preparation required.

Important Points to Remember: Ask Patient to bring all medical records and relevant investigations Pregnant or lactating mother's may kindly notify doctor before taking the test.
